Bud’s Electric only uses quality parts like Square D and Leviton. The picture below left is a side-wired receptacle like we use. All wires are wrapped around a screw and torqued to factory specs. The picture on the right is a quick-wire receptacle that we removed from a house. In our opinion, quick-wire devices are unsafe and should not be used. Notice the insulation on the wires of the quick-wire receptacle. Most contractors use these devices because they are quicker to install. But we know from experience that we will not have to return for a service call because we won't use quick-wire devices.
Bud's Electric also uses Allied fiberglass boxes with a 2 hour fire rating. Plastic boxes don't even have a rating. This makes your house safer against short circuits which cause electrical fires.
Square D is the #1 brand of electrical service. On the left is a typical 200 amp panel with all copper wiring. On the right is a meter base that burned up because the aluminum wiring was not tight enough, causing it to heat up and melt the meter jaws.
